MUNICIPAL WASTE/SLASH/RSS FEED/PODCAST/PLAYLIST/TOP 10

Turkey Day is over and we all had our fill of it. I still have one more plate to go and then that's it till next year. I sat around my house like a junkie all weekend and ate turkey, watched movies, drank beer and that's it! I didn't go out until I had to leave for work this past Monday. Mmmmm. . . doing nothing. It felt so good. Now, its time too get my ass up and check out a show this Sunday, December 2nd at Slim's here in San Francisco. MUNICIPAL WASTE is in town with Suicidal Tendencies. No disrespect but, I could care less for ST. All I want to do is see MUNICIPAL WASTE tear up San Francisco. I'm hoping to get an interview with the band so keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks.

The cool people at Harper-Collins hooked up the station with a new book release. Remember a band called Guns 'N' Roses from some years back? Yeah, that band! Well, remember the guitarist for the band? YES! SLASH! Slash has a new book out on his life and what I've read and seen so far, its freakin cool. Just about 460 pages of his life told by him (of course with help from a writer) and crap loads of pictures. I do like one quote from him, "we did amazing things every single night that were godlike". WOW! Imagine being in his shoes for a night or two on tour. Amazing. Anyway, I'll be giving a book away every Thursday on my show so be listening in to win one for Christmas or whatever. If you don't one, don't worry your little brain. You can buy it anywhere books are sold and check out what some people call "A ROCK GOD".

RTX/WITCHCRAFT/PLAYLIST/TOP 10/PODCAST

For the first time in this young Fall season, I've turned on the heater. Its a little chilly here in San Francisco and its time for the hoodies, beanies, boots and the gloves to come on. Fall and winter is a reminder that the holidays are here. Football and hockey has taken over the TV and most of all, some great bands too see this season.
I'm starting off this weekend at The Hemlock Tavern in the beautiful and restored district of the Tenderloin (hey, to some its beautiful and restored) for some RTX (members of ROYAL TRUX). Supporting RTX Friday is Dan Melchior und Das Menace of North Carolina and some RocknRoll with The Touch-Me-Nots out of Oakland. It should be a good time for us that like to boogie on Friday nights.
Saturday night is pure ROCK over at Slim's on 11th Street. WITCHCRAFT from Sweden are in the states touring like crazy and bringing you the ROCK that we all remember from back in the day. Along with WITCHCRAFT we have DANAVA from Portland, OR and our very own local boys, SAVIOURS! So please, brings lot's of joints and pass 'em around because we are gonna ROCK!

I'M BACK/HIGH ON FIRE/PANTHERS/COLISEUM/PLAYLIST/PODCAST

IIIIIIIII'm back!!!! What's up everybody? My trip was fantastic. San Antonio and NYC turned out to be fun. San Antonio was very relaxing for me. I was sleeping 10 to 12 hours a day at my uncle's air conditioned house. I never get that much sleep anywhere but back home. I got to meet one of my all time heroes, Malcolm McDowell. He was on my flight going to NYC. I had to tell him how bad ass he is and to keep it up. He looks like he can kill you with one punch. I also got to meet alot of people I have never met in person. It was nice meeting all of you. I would like to also say thanks to my friends I stayed with in Queens. Thank you Julie and Tommy. Oh yeah, my friend Roland "The Nightrocker" Fuentes of San Antonio was with me throughout NYC. Coney Island and Brooklyn was cool. I ate some Nathan's hot dogs and I couldn't break the record. Maybe next time. I had some Polish food in Brooklyn. Mmmmm. . . Polish Pork Chops! In all, my trip was fun and to bad it was short. The only thing I wasn't use to was the humidity. One day I thought I wasn't going to stop sweating in NYC. Two hours of sweating is not a normal thing for me. Especially living here in San Francisco. I was glad to be back because of that. In all, vacation is good and I need another one. Now, off to music. . .
This coming Sunday and Monday at the Independent here in San Francisco is one of the best line-ups I've seen in a while. HIGH ON FIRE, PANTHERS, COLISEUM and MONO. I've interviewed Geoff of PANTHERS already and can't wait to finally see them live. I keep missing them and finally I have them in the palm of my hands. Newly Relapse Recording artists COLISEUM will be supporting the show. COLISEUM is going to come out blazing on stage. Get there early! Then of course our own Bay Area Metal Gods, HIGH ON FIRE will be headlining and playing new songs off the new album. Make sure to take your earplugs and some bandages because its going to be bloody loud. If your going, let me know so we can get some drinks. See you there!

YEAH!!! This is it people. My last show is tomorrow and then off to Texass and NYC for two weeks! Once again, I'll be attending the CMJ festivities so please, send me your contact info so we can hook up, get drinks, see some Rock and wake up saying to each other "Nooooooooo!!!!!" JK!! Anyway, I'm going back to my hometown first for some family & friends, R&R, bar b q, Tex-Mex food and some sleep (yeah right). Then, I'm off to NYC on the 16th through the 21st. Before I leave next Thursday, I'm going with a bang! TURBONEGRO will be in town Monday and it's going to be sick. When I see TURBONEGRO now, I'm thinking its going to be the last time. They always put on a good show. People come out to ROCK and party with everybody. It totally reminds me of high school back in the mid-eighties. ITS HOT HERE!! I went riding my bike down to the Embarcadero earlier and its cruise lines from hell. I must've past up at least four of them. They are HUGE!! I've never been on one but now, I'm thinking about doing it sometime down the road. I should do it now because I'm taking it easy this weekend. I'm getting ready for CMJ in New York City next month. I'll be staying with some friends in Queens and its a straight bus ride to Williamsburg. I'm also going to hang at Coney Island before its gone. The band is RED FANG out of Portland, Oregon. These guys know the meaning of ending the human race with ROCKNROLL. Wantage USA calls them "a crusty Bad Wizard. Also on the bill is the headliners and the band that will skate to the last second of the apocalypse, HIGHTOWER(Skate Metal from SF) and Orb Of Confusion (SF) at THEE PARKSIDE this Friday the 24th. I've been living in San Francisco since April of this year and its been great. I've already been to a few dozen shows, eatin' all kinds of foods, hungout all over the city but, I have not been to a poster rock show. Until now. . . My buddy Justin McNeal is putting on the "Burn My Eyes Rock Poster Show" at 12 Galaxies in the Mission District. The artists list includes:

On Friday, August 17th I'm going to check out DETROIT COBRAS and WILLOWZ over at Slim's. Both bands have chicks in the line-up and if you know me, I love rocker babes. Then right after that, I'm running to THEE PARKSIDE for another Dano Distortion show. This time, he's bringing the likes of: Midnight Bombers (SF),Homeless Sexuals(SD) and Taint(Oakland). These bands are going to ruin your night and the following day but, in a good way. Someone will leave getting laid and not know it in the morning. If you feel lucky, Punk! Get yer ass to the show.

Hey Hey! Hope your summer is going well. Mine is pretty good and busy. The radio show is great. San Francisco and the weather are great. Nothing but in the 60's here. Sorry to hear about the South and the Eastcoast getting record high temps. Ouch! Anyway, let me move on.

This Friday will be one epic show at THEE PARKSIDE here in the city. REAGAN YOUTH from NYC will be doing an early show (3PM) along with Mouth Sewn Shut, Doomsday Hour, Instant Asshole and Follow Blindly. It?s a John the Baker & Alcoholocaust Presents so you know its going to be good. Its $10 and all ages. That?s cheap! I work two blocks from the Parkside and get off at three so I won?t miss a thing.

The following day, MENDOZZA will be ripping up some METAL Canadian style for us crazy Americans! The band hails from Vancouver and will be having a CD release party as well at The Uptown Bar in Oak-town. Also on the bill is Saros and Scarecrow! So come out to Oakland, get your METAL on and have a few drinks with our friends to the North.

Last week on my radio show I had Rafa from BLACK COBRA on for a short interview. The guys are on tour so check them out and see if they?re coming to your town. They make a lot of good noise for two guys.

The MELVINS ruled last weekend at Slim's! Dale Crover did call the show from band practice somewhere in a L.A. bunker. Listen to it on my podcast of the show down below. Thanks alot Dale. Poison Idea and Antiseen tore it up as well at Thee Parkside. The weekend went well and its time for another.

Thursday night Mr. Nick Cave and his new project, GRINDERMAN will be playing at Great American Music Hall (I'll be attending that one) and Friday night at Slim's. Did you see them on Letterman this past Monday? David didn't even mention his name. Weird? Anyway, we here in San Francisco feel privileged because GRINDERMAN is only doing shows here, New York City and Chicago. He'll be back soon because he just finished up the new Bad Seeds album and also finished a script for a now in production movie called "Death of a Ladies' Man". Damn, he's a busy guy. Have you seen the movie, "The Proposition"? Totally sick and bloody! Speaking of Australia, go by THEE PARKSIDE for a Slick Rick Presents: Slick 46 (Melbourne, Australia), The Departed, Broken Oars and Stash Black. I wonder if Slick 46 likes Nick Cave? Uh, probably not. So, if you’re not going too see Mr. Cave and still want that Australia feel, go see SLICK 46 at Thee Parkside for some Punk Rock.

Saturday night is a double shot of shows. First, I'll be at Terrorbird One Year Anniversary Blow Out // Daly City Records Triple Ds Record Release Party! The party is being thrown at The Minna Gallery here in San Francisco. It’s been a year already for the music marketing company that specializes in non-commercial, college, satellite, select commercial specialty, and internet radio promotion that prides itself on a handpicked, amazing roster. Check out TERRORBIRD for more info. The anniversary also adds a release party for Daly City Records. Come on out and meet some of the coolest people in the biz. It’s open to the public so you don't have an excuse not to come.

Right after that party, I'll be heading back to Thee Parkside (yes I'm there all the time) to check out one bad ass band, MIDNITE SNAKE. The Pittsburgh trio includes one of the most under-rated drummers of our time, Paul Quattrone of Modey Lemon and guitar-God to some, Alexei Plotnicov. Midnite Snake gives a "shock & awe" psychedelic metal attack that makes Jimi Hendrix feel uncomfortable. It’s a FREE SHOW!! YES, FREE!! Come out and witness a band that will make sure you won't leave empty handed.
