WALKEN/HAPPY HOLIDAZE/PLAYLIST/PODCAST/HOLIDAY BREAK

YEAH!!! It's time for the holidays and i hope you all have the spirit. I know i do! I'll be heading back to my hometown of San Antonio after being away for 10 holiday seasons. That's too long! I won't be doing my radio show until next year. 2010!! WOW! Un-fuckin-believable!

I have ONE more radio show to do tomorrow and it will include an interview. From San Francisco, Shane of WALKEN (yes, after the actors name) will be my guest on THE THRASH ATTACK tomorrow 4-7pm (PST). You can listen online at WWW.KSCU.ORG or in the South Bay at 103.3FM. WALKEN has been around for at least 10 years and have played probably every bar & club in and around the San Francisco Bay Area and the Westcoast. Two of the members of WALKEN were in Grayceon and they continue to play there unique style of metal to Punks, Metallers alike and the Rock n Roll crowds. Also, they are the supporting act for the DEATH ANGEL show this Friday at Slim's here in San Francisco. These guys are great too see live and hope too see you there.

I did not do my radio show this past Tuesday nor am I doing it tomorrow as well. I do though have 2 DJ gigs at a couple of places here in San Francisco this weekend. Thursday night I'm Djing at Thee Parkside for the COCK SPARRER/PIRATE PRESS KICK-OFF PARTY that happening at Great American Music Hall Friday & Saturday. Both shows are sold out and of course COCK SPARRER will be headlining both night. WOW! Friday night I'll be spinning at my neighborhood bar, Argus Lounge. FOG RISING FESTIVAL!/WITCH INTERVIEW/PLAYLISTS/TOP 10

WHAT A HALLOWEEN?! Probably the best Halloween I’ve had in years. I hope you all had a great time and wore some crazy ass costumes as I did (I was bad NYPD cop. HA!). I thought maybe this weekend I’ll chill but, it’s not likely. Saturday here in San Francisco is probably a very low-profile festival that this city has seen but, will be HUGE. FOG RISING FESTIVAL is a first that has mostly Tee Pee Records recording artists and some locals as well. Here’s the official write up;

Secret Serpents and Tee Pee Records present Fog Rising

Sentimental stories continue to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Woodstock in the mainstream media. But the year was a turning point for rock 'n' roll -- when music fragmented into so many styles and scenes.

Prog-rock. Metal. Experimental psych. Kraut-rock. Stoner-rock.

Which is why Secret Serpents and Tee Records present "FOG RISING" -- a celebration of the twisted offspring of that fragmentation.

San Francisco is the home of the club festival concept, not to mention
psychedelia and poster art. It all started here -- long before the masses
passed out and latched onto Woodstock.

Artwork will be displayed by famed poster artists, Alan Forbes, David D’Andrea, Alan Hynes and Marq Spusta.

Among the bands performing are Witch - this will be Witch's only west coast performance of 2009. Saviours, who release their brand new album "Accelerated Living" on October 26th, Ancestors, who have a highly anticipated release of their own coming out October 6th titled "Of Sound Mind", Red Fang and many more.

BUTTHOLE SURFERS/MELVINS/JESUS LIZARD/PLAYLISTS/TOP 10

So, last December I really wanted to be at the ATP Festival in England too see some of my favorite bands. Well, 10 months later and probably two thousand dollars saved, I’m going too see a couple of them this weekend. This Friday here in San Francisco at The Regency Ballroom, BUTTHOLE SURFERS and MELVINS! WOW! If I only got too see them back in the day together when they were all drugged & boozed-up. Believe me, I’ve seen them back in the day but not together on one stage. Anyway, they’re still bad ass and I’ll still see them because they’ll always be the “Rolling Stones” of Punk. HA! See you there.

The next band for sure has been a favorite of all since they formed and I remember seeing their last show at Emo’s in Austin in the late 90’s and thinking, “I’ll never see them again”. Never say never, right?! JESUS LIZARD live at The Fillmore this Saturday! People have been telling from Rome to London to the US, JL is back in full-form and better than ever. I really don’t see bands that have broken up and then get back together but for JL, I’m making an exception. KILLDOZER and a bad ass band from Portland OR, BLACK ELK are supporting the bill. Also, the crazy mind of Alan Forbes did the show poster and its fuckin remarkable! It’s going to be one crazy weekend here in SF so make sure to bring your aspirins, a blanket and don’t sleep in the parks naked. See ya!
