CURSE MACKEY/AGNOSTIC FRONT/TRAP THEM/PIRATE CAT/PLAYLIST/TOP 10

Well, I got two more radio shows at KSCU until the holiday break. Those two weeks I wanna learn how to use the Gargae Band for podcasting and iMovie on my Macbook. I got a few good shows to check out this weekend but first, I had such a great interview with Curse Mackey. If you missed it, here's the link to the podcast, http://www.nerdnetworks.org/pcr/NakedRob-20081209.mp3. Curse has so much knowledge of the music and art business that I learned a few things. Yeah, me learning! HA! Check out the interview for more info. Thanks Curse!

This Friday, December 12th at Thee Parkside will be the Godfathers of Hardcore, AGNOSTIC FRONT from New York City. I am totally stoked too see my heros from back in the day. I haven't seen them since mid-to-late 90's so, its been a while. I don't even think Roger needs to sing because everybody knows the damn lyrics and we are all going to sing along. Anyway, it's going to be one crazy show and hopefully I make it out there with my life because one thing about Agnostic Front shows is that it gets fuckin' rowdy. The band playing on the bill are First Blood, Psychology Of Genocide and Lionheart. If you want an adventure, join the fuckin navy but, if you want a blast come to show on Friday. SEE YA!

Sunday, December 14th I'm finally going too see TRAP THEM at Bottom of the Hill. TRAP THEM is on tour supporting their latest album, Seizures In Barren Praise taht's out on Deathwish Inc. The sound of Trap Them is very brutal and makers me feel like I'm going through a black hole with knives stabbing me all over. As of right now, Trap Them just made the Decibel Magazine's Top 40 Extreme albums of 2008. WOW! Congrats guys and can't wait too share the knife stabbing with you on saunday. oh yeah, These Arms Are Snakes and Narrows are playing on the bill as well. I almost forgot.

Remember, check out my new radio show every Tuesday 4to6PM (PST) at Pirate Cat Radio 87.9FM San Francisco/Los Angeles and 104.8FM in Berlin, Germany. You can check it out online at WWW.PIRATECATRADIO.COM. Oh yeah, the last of my six shows are podcast'd as well. The station is also attached to the PCR Café. If you're in San Francisco, come on down to 21st Street @Florida for a coffee, ice tea, Italian soda, free internet or just hangout. Also, I'm taking band submissions right now to play live in the café/studio for next year. No amps or full drums whatsoever! Let's say like a living room feel to it (minus the bongs, coke mirrors, porn and booze). C'mon, it's a neighborhood café. Anyway, get a hold of me for submissions.

Don't forget to check out THE THRASH ATTACK every Thursday 4to7PM (PST) at WWW.KSCU.ORG or 103.3FM in the South Bay. Spread the word and tell all your friends in bands, labels, promoters, bookers or anybody else that deals with bands. Thanks for all the music some of you send, listen and support college radio. I'll have my TOP 10 for 2008 list up next week. I think you'll like it. Ok, have a nice weekend and I'll be back next week for my last chat of the year. Whoo Hoo!! 2009 is comin!! Cheers!

INTERVIEWS: CURSE MACKEY & RAZORCAKE MAGAZINE/SLICK RICK #50 BASH!/PLAYLISTS/TOP 10

Well, Turkey Day has passed us and no more turkey sanwhich's for a while. Hope you all had a good one. I slept for about 15 hours and then got up to grab a burrito in the Mission. Mmmm...Thanksgiving burritooo. Anyway, I will NOT be doing THE THRASH ATTACK on Christmas & New Year's Day. I will be doing my other show on Pirate Cat Radio that Tuesday, December 23rd & 30th though.

Next Tuesday, I'm going to have the one and only, CURSE MACKEY on my radio show. Curse is a producer, performer, DJ, soundtrack composer, art curator, world traveler and general instigator of cultural debauchery. I've known Curse since the San Antonio days when he was in the tribal-industrial group EVIL MOTHERS. He's also been involved with Thrill Kill Kult and now (as of late), lead vocalist of industrial supergroup PIGFACE. He currently did the music for the online roll-playing game, TABULA RASA and also he curated the art exhibit
Six-String Masterpieces: the Dimebag Darrell Art Tribute and took it around the world. The real question here is, what hasn't Curse Mackey done?!?! Well, you'll find out next tuesday at 4PM (PST) on Pirate Cat Radio 87.9FM in San Francisco, L.A. and 104.8 in Berlin, Germany. Oh yeah, you can listen to the interview online as well at WWW.PIRATECATRADIO.COM. Don't miss out on this interview with one of the "Need To Know" people of the music and art world of today.

I'm gonna chill out this weekend and start sending out my yearly Christmas cards to friends of family but, in between all that I'm gonna squeeze in a show. My friend Slick Rick is having his #50 SLICK RICK SLICK BIRTHDAY BASH this Friday, December 5th at Thee Parkside here in San Francisco. This bash has an amzaing line-up: Sean Wheeler of Throw Rag & Zander Schloss of the Circle Jerks,GET DEAD, Sore Thumbs, Johnny Dilks, Druglords of the Aves., The Rhinestone Shelby Cobra! The show is ALL AGES and starts early at 8 o'clock. Slick's shows usually means lots of beer, shots and a two-day hangover. I'm glad it's on a Friday. HA!

RON TURNER/TURKEY DAY/PLAYLIST/TOP 10/PIRATE CAT RADIO

Hey hey. Next week is Turkey Day once again. It's that time to stuff out face, hang out with family that we don't like, watch football and take a nap in the middle of the day. I'm gonna stay in San Francisco, take it easy with some friends this weekend and next week as well. NO THRASH ATTACK next week but, I’ll be back December 4th. But hey, before you have your turkey, check this out.

Next Tuesday, November 25th at 4PM on Pirate Cat Radio, Ron Turner of Last Gasp Books will be on my show. Ron Turner founded LGB back in 1970 and still to this day they publish art, fiction, graphic novels, poetry and photography books. LGB has published some of the best artists and writers like: Mark Ryden, Ron English, Tim Biskup, Robert Williams, Robert crumb and many many more. Ron has so many damn stories to tell that I may have to bring him back at another time. HA! Anyway, tune in next Tuesday before you leave home for the holiday and find out the many tales of Ron Turner and Last Gasp Books of San Francisco. For more info LGB, check out the website:

If you missed my show yesterday with Hank Williams III or the live performance of Kit and The Branded Men, don't worry. You can check out the podcast right here at:
http://www.nerdnetworks.org/pcr/NakedRob-20081118.mp3 . Download it and put it in your iPod, iPhone or whatever gadget you have these days.
You can always go back and check out my show and listen online as well at WWW.PIRATECATRADIO.COM

Also, I'm taking band submissions right now to play live in the café/studio.

HANK III/KIT & THE BRANDED MEN/SISTA SEKUNDEN/THE THRASH ATTACK/PIRATE CAT RADIO/PLAYLIST/TOP 10

First off, I’m glad Obama and the Democratic Party won the election. It was worth the wait for two fuckin years of campaigning. I’m serious, for two years I’ve been listening to left/right-wing radio, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, BBC News, reading newspapers/political magazines, political websites, funny websites and so much more that I’m fuckin campaign hungover. I don’t want too see another news story for a while. I don’t want too see any news or read anything that has to do with the win whatsoever. Just like a hangover, I’m taking care of it. This week all I’m doing this is playing my iPod, watch movies and take a break from all the post-election crap. I’ll still watch the Daily Show and the Cobert Report on Comedy channel though. Those guys are very fuckin funny and talk about other shit beside politics. FUCK! I fucked up! I just saw highlights of Obama walking into the White House. Nooooooo!!!! Oh well, just like a hangover. . . start drinking again and it’ll go away. HA!

I’m glad to be back on the airwaves from being out of town for work a whole week and then the election. I have some interviews coming up on Pirate Cat Radio in the next couple of weeks. Next Tuesday at 5PM (PST), I’m having Hank Williams III (better known as HANK III). Yep, the grandson of Hank Williams will be calling in the show. HANK III has a new album out and it’s on a new label as well. I can’t wait to ask him some grueling questions about music, touring, chicks, booze and his dog. Just two country boys talking shit. HA!

Also on the same day but, an hour earlier at 4 o’clock I’m having a band performing live in the Pirate Cat Radio studio/café. KIT & THE BRANDED MEN is a country band from the East Bay and I’m glad I saw them at Thee Parkside a couple of months ago. The band plays country music like I remember it when I was growing up in Texas. Go and check out the bands bio and songs at www.myspace.com/kitandthebrandedmen. The story of Kit is remarkable by the way. Remember, you can hear all this on my radio show 4to6PM (PST) at PCR 87.9FM in San Francisco and Los Angeles. 104.8 in Berlin, Germany and of course on the world wide web at WWW.PIRATECATRADIO.COM.

This Friday, November 14th at Thee Parkside is going to be a killer Punk show. All the way from Sweden comes, SISTA SEKUNDEN. These kids sound great and the rest of the line-up looks like I’m in for one hell of a night. Check out the bands shit right here and come out. www.myspace.com/sistasekunden. Oh yeah, the show is another Alcoholocaust Presents and here’s the rest of the line-up: ACTS OF SEDITION, ACEPHALIX and PULLOUT (ex-members of Monster Squad). BE THERE THERE THERE THERE THERE!!

Also, I’m back on THE THRASH ATTACK every Thursday 4to7PM (PST) at WWW.KSCU.ORG or 103.3FM in the South Bay.
