| RECORD STORE DAY 2015 |
It is that time again we celebrate our independent record stores across the nation this Saturday the 18th. I personally don't like the hype RSD represents, but I do like going to the record store and seeing people of all kinds browsing through the records. I use to work for an indi & corporate record store, but indi will always win. Just that smell of an old record store when you walk in gets me every time. Seeing the workers and thinking which one has most knowledge of Punk Rock, Metal, Indi Rock, oldies, local artists and so on. I'm a chatterbox when I go to a record store and I usually meet interesting people (I met Mark of Hydrahead Records like that in NYC) or become friendly with a clerk. Sometimes someone listening in to my conversation will intervene with their opinion or perspective from that music era or album I'm speaking of and that makes my trip more enjoyable. I really like record stores. Hope you all are going out and support your local indi record store this Saturday. One of mine (2 block away from my house) is having bands and a BBQ.
