IMPALED/POPULATION REDUCTION/NO RADIO SHOW/PLAYLIST/TOP 10/PODCAST

As I've written in the subject line, I will not be having my radio show this Thursday due to a work trip. I will be back though on March the 6th and with a new GIGPOSTER artists. So please, come back then. Since I'm gone this week, you can listen to last weeks show at http://thethrashattack.podomatic.com and http://nakedrob.podomatic.com.

I'm lucky enough to be back Friday afternoon for a ruthless showcase at Thee Parkside. The show is a Tankcrimes Records/Alcoholocaust Presents and the lineup includes: Impaled, Population Reduction, I Will Kill You Fucker, In Disgust and Thousands Will Die. It's an all ages show and I'm hoping to make it out alive at the end of the night. Most of the bands are from here except In Disgust. In Disgust comes out of the Cambridge/Toronto, Ontario area and are extremely just like their name. Its going to an awesome show so come on out and show your support.

Thanks everybody for all the music and support you have given to KSCU and me. Without you, this world for me would be my target for disruptive madness I can cause by being annoying. Have a great weekend, be cool and keep sending music for the airwaves here in the San Francisco Bay Area. CHEERS!

DRAIN THE SKY/PLAYLIST/TOP 10/PODCAST

Man, I had so much fun at last Saturday’s poster show at OFF THE WALL on Haight Street. It was nice seeing the crew back together in San Francisco and seeing new ones as well. I got to party with the guys from Monolith Printing (have fun in Austin, TX. Miguel), David D’Andrea, Sonny from the Oakland band WATCH THEM DIE and a few guys from ANNIHILATION TIME. It was a blast and hope to do it again sometime down the road. Cheers guys!

This Friday night is the unofficial CD release party for DRAIN THE SKY. Drain The Sky has a new album out on Level-Plane Records and the label writes, “Cohesively blending together the melancholic inclination of Neurosis and the ripping attack of His Hero Is Gone, Drain The Sky's debut album is a diverse and upright punch in the gut.” I think that says it all. Oh yeah, DTS features ex-member of His Hero is Gone and Eldopa. The show is taking place at Annies Social Club and it’s presented by Alcoholocaust. Also on the bill is Birushanah (Japan), Grayceon and My Last Day On Earth. I’ll be at the show so scream out my name and introduce me to your girlfriend. HAHAHA!!

This week I’m not having a GIGPOSTER artist on my show. You can check out the website at WWW.GIGPOSTERS.COM for more info on your favorite artist or bands posters. Also, I’m not having a radio show next week. I’ll be going off to some seminar for work. I’ll be back the following week with another poster artist from Gigposters.

As always, listen online at WWW.KSCU.ORG every Thursday 4TO7PM (PST) for the BEST in new Metal, Hardcore, Grind, Doom, Stoner, Rock, Punk, Garage, Noise Rock, Post-Everything and whatever else I want. Don’t forget, I also podcast my radio show and my interviews every week. Just go to the links to the right of you and click. Check ‘em out or listen online.

It's a new year everybody so, make sure to spread the word to all your friends in bands, record labels and anybody else to send music for possible radio airplay here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Have a cool weekend and take care. CHEERS!

LIL TUFFY INTERVIEW/OFF THE WALL/PODCAST/PLAYLIST/TOP 10

Photobucket

(poster art by Lil Tuffy, San Francisco)

So much is happening here in San Francisco. First off, the weather is nice. Winter came and left as fast as it got here. So many good bands of all types are playing in the The Bay Area. Plus, art shows are popping up all over the place as well. Its good times and I’m enjoying it.

My next interview with a GIGPOSTERS.COM
poster artists will be Lil Tuffy from San Francisco. Terrance "Lil Tuffy" Ryan is a designer and artist that has been screening posters since 2002. Lil Tuffy also dips his talents into photography as well. What I’ve seen from his photographs, he shoots hot chicks and that is all I need too see. He’s going to a busy guy in the next few weeks with Noise Pop and SXSW coming up. On his way to SXSW, he usually does a little tour along the way from Cali to Texas so watch out for him in your town. Tuffy has traveled the world with his art, has been published in books & magazines and has done tour poster series for bands. His posters are simple, a few colors but, they stand out and you know they belong to Tuffy. So, tune in at 6:30PM (PST) online at KSCU 103.3FM for the interview. If you missed the interview, I will have it on my podcast website shortly after. You can find Lil Tuffy online here. Thanks for your support.

Speaking of poster art. This Saturday, February 16th is the closing of OFF THE WALL on Haight Street. OFF THE WALL has been selling poster art, fine-art prints and frames on Haight Street for 23 years. They lost their lease and are moving the shop to another location in San Francisco. So, they are throwing a huge art show with the following artists attending and showing off their works: John Seabury, Gregg Gordon, the Firehouse, Paul Imagine, Wendy Wright, Chris Shaw, Dennis Loren, Lil Tuffy, John Howard, Mark Spusta, Matt Leunig, Dave D'Andrea, and others to be announced. Come on out to support, buy and say goodbye to some nice people.

DON’T FORGET! You can always catch my radio show or my interviews at the podcast links to the right of you. Put 'em in your iPhone or whatever gadget you may have these days. Also, my radio show streams online so catch me every Thursday at KSCU 103.3FM 4TO7PM(PST) for new Metal, Hardcore, Grind, Doom, Stoner, Rock, Punk, Garage, Noise Rock, Post-Everthing and whatever else I want. It's a new year everybody so, make sure to spread the word to all your friends in bands, record labels and anybody else to send music for possible radio airplay here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Have a cool weekend, and take care. CHEERS!

GIGPOSTERS/FIREHOUSE/EPIC SESSIONS/PODCAST

Photobucket
(Firehouse Kustom Rock Posters)

I’m completely over the flu now. I drank so much water, took so much Nyquil and slept all day that the flu did not last that long. Woohoo! OK, let me get down to the nitty gritty. You know when you go and see your favorite band and at the merch table someone did a show poster. Sometimes you see the artists signing his shit and at other times you don't see anyone but, you've wondered who the artist is and where else can I find his art. Well, you can find out now. I'm dedicating on my radio show every week a poster artist from GIGPOSTERS.COM! What's GIGPOSTERS you may be asking? Well, GIGPOSTERS.COM is a website where poster artists from all over the world show off their art. Its also has a kick ass forum. You can look at all the artists posters, find your favorite bands posters, info on the artists themselves, gallery shows, hire an artist for your show, learn how to do posters, buy merchandise and so much more. Goto GIGPOSTERS.COM and find your favorite band/artist right now.
The first artist I was going to have on the airwaves was the Big Enchilada himself, Clay. He's the founder, C.E.O., owner of GIGPOSTERS.COM. Unfortunately, he's under the weather and can not call in. DAMN THE FLU!! Anyway, I was thinking who could do it and since I live in San Francisco, homegrown poster artists, THE FIREHOUSE! Chuck Sperry and Ron Donovan have been doing poster art since the early 90's. Them two have been all over the world spreading the gospel of "The Screen". Their art is made at times for huge festivals and all the way to the smallest of local punk shows. These guys have a book and are in other art books, do stickers, teach classes on screen printing, collaborate with other artists and they have no intention of stopping anytime soon. These guys are non-stop RocknRollers and their art will ROCK you as well. Here's a website on the internets I found on them, check it out. FIREHOUSE POSTERS . So, check out the radio show online at KSCU 103.3FM and tune in at 6:30PM (PST) for the interview.

This Saturday I’ll be hanging in the ‘hood over at Thee Parkside too see some old friends of mine jamming once again. Chris O and Clark are former members of Killer’s Kiss and they have a new band, EPIC SESSIONS. Also on the bill is HOT LUNCH which is Eric Shea's new band with Rob Alper (ex-Sermon drummer), and then the Nowheres which is a new Sacramento band with guys from the SLA! Come on out for the booze and the music.

Don't forget to check out the radio show every Thursday online at
KSCU 103.3FM 4TO7PM (PST). I got so much new music that you don't want to miss it. Also, If you missed my radio show, I podcast at the links to the right of you. Go ahead, put 'em in your iPhone or whatever gadget you may have these days.
It's a new year everybody so, make sure to spread the word to all your friends in bands, record labels and anybody else to send music for possible radio airplay here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Have a cool weekend, and take care. CHEERS!
