HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!! I love the 4th holiday! BBQ's, beer, firworks and shows. YES! A legendary San Antonio/Austin band will be here on the 5th of July right down the street at Thee parkside. The legendary HICKOIDS will be playing live for our enjoyment. I had these guys on my radio show yesterday and it was great. HICKOIDS is a Cow-Punk Texas band that started in 1984 (I was 14). Through some band changes, taking a rest from tour and then getting back together to start it all again, they have come full-circle to continue a journey to keep Cow-Punk alive and the HICKOIDS are doing a great fuckin job at it. Its an ALL AGES show and the bands start early at 4PM. Also on the bill is SERIOUS SAM BARRETT (UK) and CHRIS JONES. Come on down for a Texas Hoe-Down at thee Parkside Sunday, July 5th. After the Hickoids show, some of us are headin' to The Hemlock Tavern too see another legendary performer, REVEREND BEAT-MAN from Bern, Switzerland. You may know him by his band, THE MONSTERS or his bad ass record label, VOODOO RHYTHM! The Rev plays lo-fi dirty Garage Punk-Rock that can easily blow the house speaker out. He rarely comes towards the BESTcoast so, this may be the last time we'll see him for a very longtime. So, get your bbq fill and come to The Hemlock for some more 4 of July ROCK!!
I am moving next week into my new house. I have a huge ass bedroom, living room and a courtyard area so I can finally do some Texas BBQ's and invite people over.
