WHAT A PAST SEVEN DAYS HERE IN SAN FRANCISCO (and the Bay Area)?!

Its been crazy hot, raging fires all over the place (especially in San Francisco), shootings, road rage killings and now it’s back to being cold. I hope I’ll have a better weekend this time. . .

Anyway, I’m not doing that much this weekend. Friday night I’ll be at Thee Parkside, for Tankcrimes Records and Alcoholocaust Presents: DEADFALL, A.N.S. (from Denton, Texas), SEASICK (from New Brunswick, N.J.), MOTHER SPEED and FACE THE RAIL. Another brutal night of music at Thee DARKside. It’s ALL AGES and its a few dollars so, no excuses that you don’t have a fake I.D., kids. HAHAHA!!!

Oh yeah. . . Saturday night I’m going to a CD release party for BASSY!!! and her HOT ROCKIN all girl band will be kicking up the boots in the Mission District at 12 Galaxies. BASSY!!! Also on the bill are other hot rockin’ all female bands, VON IVA, HOTTUB and El Fay (Lisa Fay of 7 Year Bitch). As you may or may not know, I love ROCKIN CHICKS! This night will be unforgettable for me and the ladies. HA!

OK, you may already know that I have a new radio show every Tuesday 4to6PM (PST) at Pirate Cat Radio 87.9 San Francisco/Los Angeles and 104.8FM in Berlin, Germany. YO! Jello’s Birthday Bash last night was off the wall. I got too see so many friends from all over the Bay Area and all in one place. The 1983 MELVINS set was pretty good for a band that hasn't played in 25 years. AKIMBO scared and delighted so many people. I think they have new fans in San Francisco now. TRICLOPS were crazy as usual. The Green Party Vice-President, Matt Gonzalez came out to introduce Jello Biafra's band. Then, his band morphed into the JELVINS. I guess the bass and other guitar player in the Jelvins were the TOOL guys. I don't know, I'm not a fan of TOOL but, I am assuming. Overall, the whole night was great. The place was sold out, beer was flying around, the chicks were dressed to kill, the pit was sick and all the old people today are probably hurting. . . especially the bands. HA!

This weekend I’m pretty much chilling out. I may go to the Warped Tour too see the BRONX. I know for a fact later that night I’ll be at the Hemlock Tavern to hear some new songs from Oakland’s, TOTIMOSHI. The new album titled, “Milagrosa”, will be released on July 8^th via Volcom Entertainment. After that, the band is taking off on a full U.S.A. tour kicking off on Aug. 5^th with NEBULA. I wish I could be the merch guy on that tour. HA! Anyway, come on out to the Hemlock to get the band pumped up early to hit the fuckin’ road. Vroom Vroom!!!

I had no radio show yesterday folks. I took off so I could go see Russian Circles, Daughters and Young Widows at Slim’s last night. Young Widows was sick and can’t wait to see them again. This weekend I’ll be heading to “Rock Art by the Bay”. The Rock Poster Society (TRPS) returns to Fort Mason Center once again with some old and new faces attending. My other radio show at PIRATE CAT RADIO is going pretty well. This coming Tuesday, June 17th 4to6PM, THE RESTARTS from the U.K will be live in the studio. They're back again in the states and they’ll playing at Thee Parkside that same night along with Mouth Sewn Shut, Static Thought, US Kings and Fracas. The show is once again an Alcoholocaust Presents, its All Ages and the show starts at 7PM. Come on out and support these U.K. punkers before they leave the country.

We have a special birthday party going on here in San Francisco on Monday the 16^th and Tuesday the 17^th. Jello Biafra is turning the big FIVE-O and what a party he’s throwing. Jello has invited a few bands that we all know and love to play. To open the shows, the Melvins reach back to their original '83 hardcore days with King Buzzo on guitar, original drummer Mike Dillard and Dale Crover manning the bass. This Melvins line-up goes on first at 8:00 sharp. Then we have Jello’s new band, Jello Biafra & the Axis of Evildoers (Ralph Spight, Billy Gould, Jon Weiss). Of course Jello with the Melvins and the opening acts are: Drunk Injuns, Los Olvidados (Monday night only), Triclops and Akimbo (Tuesday night). This is a birthday party some of we would like to have but, in the mean time come to great American Music Hall and feel it before you throw one like this. You may just change your mind. HA!
