I grew up with two aunts around me at 6yrs old and they listened to Rock and the local Rock station all the time in 1975. I already knew about RNR at that time, but when I saw a picture of KISS and heard "Alive" I went berserk. Maybe that's why I turned out a little crazy, but KISS was the gateway band for most of us kids back in the 70s to get into RNR. In a three to four year span, I was all about KISS. KISS posters, shirts, wore fuckin make-up, I was Cat for Halloween, I wanted the fuckin' boots. This was a 7 & 8 year old me and tens of thousands more kids that wanted all that shit. I know, we went berserk! We saw them on Saturday morning cartoons, TV shows, movies, late night telly and so much more. They were everywhere. Today is the 40th anniversary of KISS Alive and I just want to thank KISS for fucking up my life (in a good way) and introducing me to another world. So I go off the grid for a few days and when I come back home from camping, Roddy Rowdy Piper is dead. What? I thought it was a joke. I grew up watching him in and out of the ring doing what he was good at and that was chewing bubble gum and kicking ass. I'll never forget how he beat up Capt. Lou Albano and Cindi Lauper at MSG. HA! That shit was awesome to me as a kid. Then of course the film, THEY LIVE! He was so good in that film. I think I must've saw that movie in my 20's about 500 times and it was always when I didn't have a job either. HA! Anyway, RIP Roddy and hope you're playing the bagpipes somewhere with the other wrestling legends.

I see all these ads now on the "dangers of fireworks." YES! Fireworks are dangerous and that's why my cousins, friends, other kids and I use to light off bottle rockets from my front pockets or when light up a bottle rocket and wait until the fuse is super low and then you throw up in the air and see it go so fuckin' high.
