Well, Turkey Day has passed us and no more turkey sanwhich's for a while. Hope you all had a good one. I slept for about 15 hours and then got up to grab a burrito in the Mission. Mmmm...Thanksgiving burritooo. Anyway, I will NOT be doing THE THRASH ATTACK on Christmas & New Year's Day. I will be doing my other show on Pirate Cat Radio that Tuesday, December 23rd & 30th though.

Next Tuesday, I'm going to have the one and only, CURSE MACKEY on my radio show. Curse is a producer, performer, DJ, soundtrack composer, art curator, world traveler and general instigator of cultural debauchery. I've known Curse since the San Antonio days when he was in the tribal-industrial group EVIL MOTHERS. He's also been involved with Thrill Kill Kult and now (as of late), lead vocalist of industrial supergroup PIGFACE. He currently did the music for the online roll-playing game, TABULA RASA and also he curated the art exhibit Six-String Masterpieces: the Dimebag Darrell Art Tribute and took it around the world. This bash has an amzaing line-up: Sean Wheeler of Throw Rag & Zander Schloss of the Circle Jerks,GET DEAD, Sore Thumbs, Johnny Dilks, Druglords of the Aves., The Rhinestone Shelby Cobra! The show is ALL AGES and starts early at 8 o'clock. Slick's shows usually means lots of beer, shots and a two-day hangover. I'm glad it's on a Friday. HA!

You read the subject correctly. Todd fuckin' Taylor of Razorcake Magazine will be calling in the radio show tomorrow at 4:15PM (PST). Todd is the founder (maybe co-founder) of thee BEST fanzine out there right now. They are also the first and only official non-profit DIY punk rock fanzine in America primarily dedicated to supporting independent music culture. Todd was also editor of FLIPSIDE back in the day. First off, I’m glad Obama and the Democratic Party won the election. It was worth the wait for two fuckin years of campaigning. I’m serious, for two years I’ve been listening to left/right-wing radio, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, BBC News, reading newspapers/political magazines, political websites, funny websites and so much more that I’m fuckin campaign hungover. I don’t want too see another news story for a while. I don’t want too see any news or read anything that has to do with the win whatsoever. Just like a hangover, I’m taking care of it. This week all I’m doing this is playing my iPod, watch movies and take a break from all the post-election crap. I’ll still watch the Daily Show and the Cobert Report on Comedy channel though. Those guys are very fuckin funny and talk about other shit beside politics. FUCK! I fucked up! I just saw highlights of Obama walking into the White House. Nooooooo!!!! Oh well, just like a hangover. . . start drinking again and it’ll go away. HA!

I’m glad to be back on the airwaves from being out of town for work a whole week and then the election. I have some interviews coming up on Pirate Cat Radio in the next couple of weeks. Next Tuesday at 5PM (PST), I’m having Hank Williams III (better known as HANK III). Yep, the grandson of Hank Williams will be calling in the show. I like ROCKtober! Since I was a teenager, ROCKtober has been a part of my life. I remember the local rock station would throw a free concert in downtown San Antonio. Also, some good concerts would come through town. As I got older, the local bars and rock clubs would always have more bands than usually and great drink specials (YEAH!). Now, it still hasn’t changed and that’s why I love this country. The next seven days are going to be so much fun here in San Francisco that I invite you to fly in and hang out. Ok, try to keep up with me.

Starting this Friday the 10^th, THE SWORD, BLACK COBRA and BISON b.c. will be performing at Slim’s. I think this is the first time I’ll be seeing BLACK COBRA on the big stage. It’s only two guys that sound like they’ll be five guys on stage. I’m hoping the light show for them will be like a RUSH concert. HA! THE SWORD has been getting bigger and bigger in the last couple of years. These guys are now opening for METALLICA and there fans base is only getting bigger. It won’t surprise me that The Sword will start touring with other bigger bands in the near future. All the best to them. Also on the bill is BISON b.c. and these guys are going to blow you away. They’re loud and will crush your skull early on the show. So, if you like Mastodon or Lair of the Minotaur, go out to dinner early and don’t miss this band.

Two huge events going on Saturday, October 11^th and let me start with the early show. We are proud to have once again TRPS Rock Poster Show 2008 in Golden Gate Park. Ripley of Wooden Shjips and his buddy Rich got together and wanted to put on a festival like they use to back in the day. The event starts at 3PM (doors at 2) and it’s ALL DAY LONG! It’s also ALL AGES and Thee Parkside has food for sale, an outdoor patio (so you can chill in the backyard) or go across the street to Jackson Park. Oh yeah, the show poster was done by none other than Alan Forbes. Boxcar Satan has been an integral part of the San Antonio music scene since the late 80’s. The band has gone through so many drummers and bass players that I lost count years ago. Only one man has been with BS since the “big bang” and his name is Sanford Allen. The current line-up is probably the tightest I’ve ever seen from them. Bassist Patrick Sane and Sanford are alumni of Texas industrial terrorists Evil Mothers and drummer Aaron Seibert is also a member of Austin's Gorch Fock. I can’t wait too see my boys from SATANtonio and they are a “must see” band if you like your Blues dirty, mean, evil and pretty all at once. See you there!
