VITAMIN X/BOOM FEST 2008/PCR/PLAYLISTS/TOP 10

Since I got back from Seattle a few weeks ago, I’ve been laying low and just going out drinking and hanging with friends mainly. I’ve seen a few bands along the way like Part-Time Christians (members of Attitude Adjustment and they were fuckin killer!), Abrupt (SF), Nick Cave and that’s about it. This weekend, I’m going too see some great fuckin bands and its starts tomorrow night. Oh yeah, no radio shows next week. Sorry!

Thursday night is Obituary, Unleashed and Carnifex at Slim’s but, the one band I was looking forward seeing because I haven’t seen them since the eighties was POSSESSED. Nooooo!!!!! They just canceled the show and I really wanted too see one of my favorite metal bands from that era. Hell, I still have the original LP of “SEVEN CHURCHES” and I even played it at a DJ gig a few weeks ago. Anyway, I wanted to remember the good times through there songs at the show. I wanted to text my old friends from high school that I’m at the show and wished they were here getting high and drinking beer like the old days. Oh well, I’ll catch them next time here in San Francisco and I’ll be able to toke up and pour booze down me throat once again.

Friday night I’ll be boozing up at my neighborhood bar, Thee Parkside but, a band from a far away land will be performing. VITAMIN X from Amsterdam, Netherlands will be tearing it up along with PELIGRO SOCIAL, DESOLATION and DUCK AND COVER. The new album was put out on TankCrime Records (YEAH) and the cover art was done by John Dyer Baizley (Baroness). The show is all ages and it’s presented once again by Tank Crimes Records and Alcoholocaust Presents. Get ready for some HardcorePunk and wear your sweatband. See you there!

After a few cups of coffee, a greasy breakfast and sleeping in a bit, I’ll be at Thee Parkside again for another show. Not just a show this time but, a fest. BOOM FEST 2008 will be happening from 3 to 2AM. Boom is a legendary Punk Rocker from San Francisco and his band back in the 80’s, BOOM & THE LEGION OF DOOM. He actually busted out on my other radio show yesterday some virgin vinly of the original LP from 1989. It was amazing! Very funny too say the least. Anyway, he’s the getting the band back together to do his fest and a whole lot of other bands (check out the flier).
